Napa: Exploring Downtown

Nick and I took a day trip to Napa Valley to go olive oil and wine tasting. Since neither of us particularly like wine, we wanted to fill our trip with non-wine activities, which is pretty hard to do in wine country.

One of our favorite things was visiting Gott’s Roadside. Nick loves diners, and when I saw this place online, I knew we had to go. There are several scattered throughout Napa Valley and San Francisco, but there was one right next to one of the wineries we visited on St. Helena’s highway. We had to wait in line for quite a while, which gave us time to finally make up our mind on which burger to get. I loved the fact that they had the vegan Impossible burgers, as well as gluten free buns! We also were able to get onion rings, french fries, and Nick got a milkshake. Everything was great and we totally recommend you find one if you’re ever in the area!

We drove to downtown Napa and went straight to Oxbow Public Market (parking is free there!). We loved all of the shops inside and walked several laps around before we finally decided what we wanted. Nick found a new root beer, and I grabbed a coffee. Later, we bought some cheese, vegan cheese, crackers, and meat to create a cheese board of our own back at our hotel room. I was also able to get a vegan milkshake at the ice cream stand - so good!

When we finally left the market (it would have been so easy to spend hours just hanging out there), we walked more towards the center of downtown. We window shopped a little and found a huge mural. We wanted to find all of the exhibitions on the Napa Art Walk, but my shoes were giving my feet blisters, so we called it a day a little early.

The drive back was just as beautiful as the drive there. We put on a random playlist from spotify that had the words California in the title and sang along to songs we didn’t know. It was honestly my favorite day of our San Francisco trip.
