What To Do in New Orleans
We were only in New Orleans for 4 days so we tried to make the most of it! We stayed busy for most of the time, but I sprained my foot halfway through the trip so we weren’t able to do as much, especially if it involved walking or a lot of traveling. We joked that the first half of the trip it was raining and the second half of the trip I was limping around so we never really got a “good” day, but we had so much fun and squeezed so much in!
Arts District
We explored the Arts District the first day and we loved it! It was raining off and on, which made it perfect to pop in different galleries to wait out the rain. Click here for our post all about the Arts District, listing some of our favorite galleries and pictures from our fun mural walk!
Magazine Street Shopping
Our Airbnb was on Magazine Street, which is such a perfect location because there are so many shops and restaurants around. We loved taking walks and actually spent our whole final day just window shopping. Click here for all of our favorite shops and restaurants!
French Quarter
Of course you have to go to the French Quarter! We spent most of our time there during the day and it was hardly busy. When we went back at night, it was loud and bustling! A very different vibe, but it was more the one I was picturing when I thought of the French Quarter. There is definitely something for everyone in the French Quarter - click here to see what we did during our time there!
Go on a Tour
We had never been on a tour during one of our trips until now. There are so many tours in New Orleans - cemetery tours, cocktail tours, and more! We went on a Plantation tour and Swamp tour and really enjoyed learning so much of Louisiana’s history!
City Park
City Park is a huge public park, way bigger than Central Park! Because we were there around Christmas time, we actually got to go to Celebration in the Oaks, which is a huge holiday light show! It was so fun to sip hot chocolate and walk around all of the lights.
Southern Food and Beverage Museum
Nick was super excited to check out the Southern Food and Beverage Museum. Everything was separated into states and it showed which states contributed to what food. We learned about what crops are grown in each state and the history of many popular foods like Popeye’s or the many different types of hot sauces and which states make which ones! It was very interesting and they give a discount for any students or teachers!
We really wanted to go to Studio Be, but we had it scheduled for our last day, and with my hurt foot, we decided not to take the trip there. That was the biggest disappointment because I was really looking forward to it! Their artwork is so powerful, so I recommend you check it out, if you can!
